'Mindfulness Meditations for the Anxious Travelers' by Elisha Goldstein -A Short Review

Book Title: Mindfulness meditations for the Anxious Travelers

Main focus: Phobia of traveling on planes
This book is a very good choice for the people who have any kind of phobia in their life and are suffering from any kind of anxiety. I bought this book for the title itself because, I wanted some meditation techniques to calm down my anxiety while I  am in public toilets.

Book zooms at the basic psychology of the mind, the resultant physical responses while you are anxious and teaches to accept these responses and then teaching yourself to let them go.

I loved the part of the book when Elisha talks about the time of his life when he is 6 years old, his parents get divorced. He gets angry and confused and shows it by not eating the food, and hides under the table. It was a physical response but when he grew old, he would do the same thing but mentally, closing down himself mentally from the outer world.

He realized this phenomenon when one day he was in front of the therapist, and felt the same mental cycle. He was seating there but mentally he closed himself, and suddenly the therapist asked him whether he still is hiding under the table. Elisha quotes in his book as " I was in therapy the same thing occurred and my therapist asked, "Elisha, where are you? It's like you're still hiding under the table." That phrase dropped me into a space of clarity. She was absolutely right.".

Do you encounter any such situations where you hide yourself under the table? Please do read this book, it is a very good book and going to help you a lot. You will be able to separate yourself from the little boy by creating a space between yourself and the little boy.
You will generate compassion for this boy.  The author has focused a lot about the phobia of traveling, which he claims to be common among at least 40% of the population. He has discussed this phobia in details and has shown the ways to enjoy the travel in planes or any other mode by focusing on the NOW.
