"I Too had a Dream" by Dr. Verghese Kurien (A Short Review)

Hi,
This book gave me a view to the history of the diary production of India. Dr. Veghese Kurien indeed was a man who changed many things in this particular sector of food products. He not only made India a self sufficient in diary products but became the largest producer of the milk in the world.
Operation flood was backed up with his determination and full proof plan to make this a success. He was the person who fetched the financial help from the European union through World Food program.
His Anand Pattern was not only utilized in India to bring the white revolution but was also appreciated by the world agencies. Dr. Kurien was invited by the Russia, Sri Lanka and even by Pakistan to bring same change in their diary production.

He is lovingly known as the milk man of India. This book gives insight into his determined and blunt nature, he did not entertained even the politician of the highest rank when their motive was not the public welfare but their own personal.

He was admired by the good politicians and was like a Kali for the bad ones, he never hesitated to tell the truth on their face. He got assistance many good leaders throughout his life naming few, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sh. Lal Bahadur Shasthri and even Indira Gandhi.

This book gives the idea of doing the business for the good of the country. Co-operative structure can be well understood.

Thanks for your kind visit!
